Ravenet was born in Valencia, Spain on May 5, 1905. He studied painting at the San Alejandro School of Fine Arts, between 1924 and 1926 and at the La Grande Chaumiere Academy in Paris, France from 1928 to 1929.

He also studied at the Louvre in Paris and the El Prado Museum in Madrid from 1930 to 1932. In 1933 he completed his training at the National Gallery of New York, United States. He also ventured into painting, sculpture, engraving and ceramics.

Ravenet was part of the Vanguard artistic movement in Cuba during the first half of the 20th century.

His work can be seen at the MOMA (New York), National Museum of Fine Arts (Cuba), Museo de La Finca El Abra (Cuba) and Biblioteca Memorial Juan Marinello (Cuba).
